Jio-bp’s 100,000 Charger Plan is Here 🔌
What Happened?
Jio-bp (the dynamic duo of Reliance Industries and bp) is going all in on its retail and EV charging expansion.
The plan?
A whopping 100,000 EV charging stations over the next decade, along with 1,000 compressed biogas (CBG) outlets and 180 new fuel stations this year.
Why It Matters?
EV owners can finally breathe easy—charging stations won’t be as rare as polite drivers.
Jio-bp is already leading the charge (literally), with 95% of its locations featuring fast chargers and India’s fastest 480 kW charger at NMACC Mumbai.
Plus, they’re offering battery swapping, so you might change your battery faster than your playlist.
And for those still clutching their petrol pumps, fear not—Jio-bp’s fuel expansion means gas stations aren’t going extinct just yet.
Anything else?
With crude oil prices lounging around $74 per barrel, Jio-bp is eyeing fat marketing margins while setting its sights on a ₹50,000 crore topline for FY 2024-25.
Topline refers to a company’s total revenue or gross sales before deducting any expenses.
For example, if Jio-bp’s topline is ₹50,000 crore, it means the company expects to earn ₹50,000 crore in revenue.
However, its bottom line (net profit) will be lower after subtracting all expenses.

JioHotstar & Nielsen Team Up to Bowl Out Fake Ad Metrics 🤝
JioHotstar and Nielsen are bringing third-party digital ad measurement to IPL 2025, finally giving advertisers real transparency because let’s face it, no one trusts self-reported numbers.
With IPL raking in ₹4,000 crore in annual ad spends and digital advertising nearing ₹1 lakh crore, brands want real insights, not guesswork.
Nielsen’s dashboard, Nielsen ONE, will track impressions, clicks, and performance in real time.
Advertisers will pay for the service, but hey, at least they’ll know where their money’s going.

This comes after their promise last November to buy back a huge $7.5 billion in shares over the next year.

DTDC’s Big Bet on Speed in the Auto Industry 🚙
What Happened?
DTDC is burning rubber with its rapid delivery push, targeting the auto spare parts market.
The company has re-engineered its supply chain to ensure 2-4 hour and same-day deliveries, helping businesses that struggle with delayed parts and lost sales.
The company is also setting up dark stores in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and even tier 2 and 3 cities like Surat and Pondicherry, betting on growing demand beyond metro areas.
How are the numbers?
With rising competition from Delhivery and Xpressbees, DTDC is gearing up to fight for market share.
Its logistics revenue hit ₹2,235.6 crore in FY24, up from ₹2,008.1 crore in FY23.
But profits took a hit, with an ₹8.5 crore loss compared to a ₹23.8 crore profit the previous year.
India’s retail market is projected to hit $1.5 trillion in four years, and businesses are racing to build faster, cost-effective delivery solutions.
The bigger picture
DTDC’s move signals a fundamental shift in consumer behaviour: ultra-fast delivery isn’t just for groceries anymore.
However, with rising costs, not every company can afford the 10-minute delivery model, making same-day and rapid commerce a smart alternative.

Will Nuclear Power Light Up India’s Future? 🔋
What Happened?
Okay, grab your seat, because NTPC, India’s top power producer, is planning something pretty electrifying.
The company has decided to triple its original nuclear power target, setting its sights on a massive 30 gigawatts (yes, you read that right) over the next 20 years!
Originally, they were aiming for just 10 GW, but with the government opening the nuclear sector to foreign and private investments, NTPC’s ambitions skyrocketed to a jaw-dropping $62 billion.
Why It Matters?
Well, India’s pushing hard to clean up its energy act, and NTPC’s nuclear adventure could be a game-changer.
With a target to hit 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power by 2030, this project will help turbocharge those clean energy goals.
Plus, NTPC isn’t doing this alone. It’s partnering with global giants like Russia, the U.S., and France.
On top of that, big-name Indian companies like Tata Power and Reliance are eager to get in on the action.
So what’s up?
They’re currently scouting land across India (from Gujarat to Tamil Nadu) despite facing some local resistance—because, let’s be honest, convincing people to host nuclear power plants isn’t exactly a walk in the park.
Will they manage to overcome the land challenges and convince local communities?
Only time will tell. But if NTPC pulls this off, we might just be witnessing the birth of India’s nuclear energy boom.
